Certification in Marathon, Florida Keys: Thursday Aug 25, 2011 to Monday Aug 29, 2011

If you need to finish up a dive or want to earn a new certification such as Nitrox Certification , Wreck Diver Certification, Deep Diver,  Night Diver, Search and Recovery Diver, U/W photo Diver, Underwater Hunter Diver, Underwater Navigator, Drift Diver, Boat Diver, Underwater Videographer, Diver Propulsion Vehicle this is a great time to join us.

In the Advanced Open Water Class you will be introduced to Deep diving, Night diving, Wreck diving, Search & Recovery diving and will practice your advanced Underwater Navigation. The AOW Class gets you 5 more dives with the instructor and dive masters. Studies have shown that divers who have the AOW Certification  under their belt are more likely to continue diving, whereas dives with only Open Water Certification are more likely to not be as active a diver.

The cost for the AOW Certification is $ 195 plus Boat fees .

There is no exam as in the Open Water class, the AOW class is a hands on class; watch a video, read a section about the dive, discuss the type of dive and then go do it (NO TEST!)

When: Thursday Aug 25, 2011 to Aug 29, 2011

Departing La Guardia Airport Thursday Aug 25th departing late afternoon  (2:43 pm), arriving Fort Lauderdale about 6 pm

(Optional) Dive Sun. Aug 28th Extra day of diving on Sun Aug 28th (if your return flight is on Monday)

Or

Return Monday Aug 29th departing Fort Lauderdale late morning arriving La Guardia County Airport about mid afternoon.

Air currently is $tbd round trip,  (Airfares change rapidly, so the sooner you commit to pursuing your certification &  book your flights, the lower your airfare will be.)

FYI: There are some flights with 1 stop, but the layover can be anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours. If the connecting plane has a problem you may be stranded in the connection city and miss some of the dives. This has happened previously to some my students.

Room rate is $ tbd per night single or double occ. (be mindful of checkout time to avoid being charged for an extra day).  Other lodging is available at higher rates.

To travel from the airport to Marathon we will rent cars and share the expense; 2, 3, or 4 persons per car.

Boat fees, 2 tanks & lead is $ tbd + tax & service, 3 tank dives & lead $ tbd+ tax & service. Night dives are $ tbd+ tax  & service.

Water Temp in Aug is in the mid 80’s (The boat Captain believes it should be about 88) so 2-mm shorty suit should make you comfortable and protect your skin from the nylon straps of the BCD

Please call Ski and Scuba Connection for details.
